  • mufasa62 : Hi Guys, I do not agree with you about Boshoff. I think he have the experience and he can also play the running game as was proofed in the CC. His kicking to poles is also very good. I we select a youngster and he cant handle the pressure, we will be in trouble, just my 2c
  • Willa : Thats what I would do. Reward loyalty and send a message to the youngsters that form will get an opportunity. Thats what any young rugby player wants to know.
  • Lion4ever : Agree with that statement, Willa. It will be typical of JA, to pull something like this off.
  • Willa : If Ackerman selects Boshoff, we're going to have to abandon our running game. Play safe, percentage rugby. Territory and take points on offer. If he selects an unknown, this might work in our favour. The Bulls will not know what to expect. With Bossie moving, I'd put faith in a youngster. He will have enough experience around him.
  • Lion4ever : Alistaire Coetzee new Bok Coach
  • Ed_the_Lion : Just be careful, that Ed talks a lot k@k :)
  • Ed_the_Lion : @wetalkrugby on twitter
  • Ed_the_Lion : «link»
  • lawwe leeu : Please let me know once you appear on twitter, yes Ed is very vocal I follow him already
  • LV : Hey lawwe leeu, I'm personally not on any social media, but I believe that Ed is quite vocal. But I do believe that this is something that we should be looking into. Thanks.
  • lawwe leeu : HI LV and Baylion are you guys on twitter ? I would like to engage with you there as well
  • Ed_the_Lion : @Groot Leeu, ESPN is streaming it this year.
  • Mr-T : That is what I am doing, streaming on Supersport. Think it about R80 extra a month.(May be wrong)
  • Lion4ever : Groot Leeu, best bet is to stream. If you have someone this side who can give you their details, you can stream via Supersport.
  • Groot Leeu : Hi guys, I live in Finland and would really like to watch the game. Does anyone know how I can make that happen?
  • Goofy : Just wondering what the reason is for Bossie not being there...
  • Goofy : Lions Squad to Japan and NZ...Ruan Ackermann, Fabian Booysen, Andries Coetzee, Robbie Coetzee, Ruan Combrinck, Faf de Klerk, Ruan Dreyer, Andries Ferreira, Corne Fourie, Rohan Janse v Rensburg, Elton Jantjies, Jaco Kriel, Robert Kruger, Lionel Mapoe, Malcolm Marx, Howard Mnisi, Franco Mostert, Julian Redelinghuys, Courtnall Skosan, Dillon Smit, Dylan Smith, Warwick Tecklenburg, Armand van der Merwe, Jaco van der Walt, Jacques van Rooyen, Harold Vorster, Warren Whiteley (captain)

  • Roftie : Kan hul nie mar al afskop nie
  • Roftie : 0730730288
  • Roftie : Bay
  • Lion4ever : Season tickets in my hand. looking forward to the season.
  • LV : And of course John Mitchell is now Head Coach of USA. That I believe will work well. Give the Yanks some credit, they are professionals and will probably embrace Mitchell's style... for the first 4 years...
  • LV : I see that Jacobie Adriaanse has joined the Kings. I haven't seen him play in a while. I wonder how that will work out for the both of them. Probably quite well under the circumstances I suspect.
  • Simba : Waar is Lohan Jacobs? D
  • Harvey : Hi Guys. When is the Lions' Awards Ceremony?
  • Lion4ever : I see it looks like Mark Richards has signed for the Kings!!!

The Battle of the Big Chokers

Barring the Crusaders, the rest of the semi finalists were all chokers – and big ones at that too. And with the record – holding Kiwis now finally ejected from the games, one of the remaining teams will be called Super Rugby Champions and the other will be known as the choker of all chokers!

Super Rugby 2012 – Final Chapters

While the Lions are left to deal with the controversy that never seems to be too far away from them, two South African teams and two New Zealand teams are left in the competition. Now it is no longer club verses club it is 2 rival rugby nations that will be hell bent on winning glory not only for themselves, but for their Father Lands and countrymen.

Mitchell’s Golden Parachute… Ehemmm Disciplinary Proceedings to Start Today

The Lions may not be playing any rugby at the moment, but still find it hard to keep away from controversy. Head Coach John Mitchell will begin his formal disciplinary proceedings this morning and I am sure that between the 2 parties some kind of financially crippling solution will be reached.

Lions to remain in SupeRugby

Now that the news has been broken, I can now at last say why I maintained that the Lions will play in SupeRugby next season.

Can the Lions Trump the Bulls?

Could this be the last Super 15 preview for the Lions as we currently know them to be for some to come? A question that is almost as daunting as the prospect of taking on the Bulls at
Loftus on Saturday.

Lions Name Almost Unchanged Team for Bulls Clash

There were 2 doubtful starters at the beginning of the week. Thankfully Lionel Mapoe has recovered enough to be selected but Franco van der Merwe didn’t make it.

Grant Hattingh Leaves for the Bulls

There can certainly be cause for litigation against SARU now as apart from the loss in sponsorship revenue and sponsorship exposure, a player has specifically left the Lions as a result of the uncertainty surrounding their Super Rugby future.

Little Lions Cause Major Upset at Craven Week

The Golden Lions caused a major upset yesterday at the Craven Week when they defeated the much fancied KZN team in an enthrawling encounter, deemed to be the match of the day.

I’m a Lion, and always will be

I have been at times very critical of the Lions players over this season, not just due to the results but due to their individual performances. Some have been deserving and some have not, and with all the uncertainty of 2013, I want to re-affirm my uncompromising and undying support for the GLRU and the Lions players.
